Showcasing Iraq in Glasgow

These truly stunning pictures, were taken last weekend at the Rumman Festival, that was held on the first weekend of September in Glasgow, and was organised by Two Rivers UK

The Rumman Festival – the first instalment of what Two Rivers hopes will become an annual event, presented a new narrative in Scotland, and gave audiences a creative outlet and fresh introduction to Iraqi culture.

Over two days, the Rumman Festival showed Iraq focused films, presented live Iraqi music, workshops and talks which explored a number of themes, including how Iraqis in the diaspora are contributing to the regeneration of Iraq.

As the festival coincided with Eid Al Adha, Two Rivers opened the doors of the Project Cafe, to host a delicious and traditional Iraqi Eid brunch. The festival was a shining light of creativity, which was organised to start shaping a post-conflict identity.
